  • ssecond one is a silver (cant remember denomination) from flanders or antwerp-- was netherlands in 1622. Probably a coin familiar to the very first settlers of Dutch Manhattan

#1 is a dollar from the Republic of China, colloquially known as the "fat man dollar". This one dates from Year 10.Krause reports two varieties for this year: KM.Y 329.5 with "oblique reeding" and KM.Y 3296 with normal vertical reeding. The oblique variant is more valuable, though neither are "rare".

Your coin is also damaged slightly. Apart from some small chopmarks, it's got what appears to be a removed mount at 8 o'clock on the reverse, as well as some scratches in the centre of the reverse (which may have been caused by removing the mount). With tis damage, I can;t see it being worth much more tan bullion value (.890 fine, .7552 ounces).

Finally, I should point out that even though it's not a scarce type, the "fat man dollar" is nevertheless extensively copied by the fake/fantasy makers in China.

The second coin is a silver coin from Brabant, Spanish Netherlands (you can read BRAB to the left of the shield), but the 1600's Krause is sadly lacking in illustrations for this state; I'd need to know the weight to tell the denomination.
Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.

Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice. B)

    "Year 10" would be 1921.

I thought that this was a rim cud, not damage.
