You cannot mention the name or initials of grading services that are not ebay approved in the Title or Text. You can mention the numerical grade in the Specifics or Text. Some eBay "trust and safety" people claim that the photo is part of the description, and won't allow the name of the grading company to show in the photo. This is incorrect, but you may have to fight them if they end it for this reason. Since you cannot give an estimated value, or even bluesheet values for these coins, if you have any price stickers or stock numbers or labels on the slab "which could be a coded value" those must also be removed or photoshopped out. One T&S person who could barely understand English said that I needed to photoshop out the denomination....
By the way, all of the ebay-approved grading services have, or had, cross promotional arrangements where eBay receives
a kickback when ebay users get coins slabbed through special links, such as this.
It's called pay to play.
Neat sample slab, by the way. Those are cool.
(As an aside: placing the initials P C I spaced apart won't do much good as anyone searching "PCI" won't locate that auction thus defeating the purpose and wasting five spaces.)

May you good fortune for bay ching and other chop sticks find rewards heavenly.
Ahso ?
Using ICG, I got 862 results so I guess they still accept ICG, along with PCGS & NGC. Any others?

Thanks for pointing this to everyone out Frank. I haven't been able to locate this for some time. This clearly shows how partisan Ebay really is! It's ridiculous!

As usual, Franks own interpretation ... That NGC direct submission has been available for some time now, even before last years eBay change on Certified Coins, I know, because I've used it in late 2007. I have not seen or know of any similar offers from the other three approved grading services. So where is the kickback? Please let us know with some facts.

Yes, but it's better than coin only being listed as raw...
When is a venue allowed to dictate how someone wants to be recognized for a item they have if they(ebay) scrutinize what is in the mass of the item/auction?
You are basically paying for a service to advertise your item, just as if it were in a newspaper or a catalog, nothing different there!?
Ebay at times sucks.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if eBay has automated this by now. I got an error trying to upload an
old listing that still contained the words "money order".

<< <i>Bushmaster8- Just by posting this thread you have now been added to 30 peoples watch list. The only problem with the 30 watchers is that they work for free for ebay reporting sellers that violate the rules. Now that listing fees are so cheap the bite is not to bad. I have had 2 or 3 auctions pulled for some issue out of 100's. Silly me one of them got nuked cause i gave a close up of the reverse and did not show the whole reverse of the slab. Sometimes it can work out to your benefit. I listed a SEGS coin incorrectly (i did not use SEGS anywhere that i can recall) and it got nuked. A buyer contacted me that i had sold to before and bought the coin for 1500 outside of ebay so i saved the fees on that one.

I agree. The rats on this board are scurrying.

Uh, yeah, partisan against overgraded and problem coins in crap slab and self-slab holders. This is one of eBay's changes that was actually good -- although I think they should approve the old Hallmark, Green PCI, and the new DGS holders as they, in general, are properly graded.

It only makes sense that these partnerships were in place, and proving profitable to both parties, BEFORE Ebay banned those companies who do not participate. As I said, PAY TO PLAY..
Proof of PCGS' ebay partnership
From Here
CLCT is the largest third-party authenticator of coins, sports cards, stamps and autographs, partly due to CLCT's partnership with eBay
And of ICG's ebay partnership
Welcome Ebay users to ICG!
As for coins, I think eBay is stupid.
