SAE's Soon to be in Production?

I was having trouble accessing my Orders page on the U.S. Mint website, so I called to confirm & verify my recent Lincoln Cent order. While I was able to access any other transaction without a problem, the Lincoln Cent link just wasn't cooperating. Strangely, however, there was an order processed on the day before - May 13th - and upon checking this, discovered to my amazement that the Mint had shipped my subscription order for the Silver American Eagle Proof coin.

Wassup with this?

So, in my call to the Mint, after a few minutes to check, the very helpful young woman who assisted me came back to the phone to inform me that the order posting was a glitch she could not explain, however, it meant that my subscription order was placed on a special priority list, and that MY coins would be the first to be shipped. She confirmed this again, after a brief absence to canvas whomever - or whatever - led her to that conclusion.

Apparently, the Mint is readying the production process, though this wasn't confirmed in any way. I was, however, told very matter-of-factly that BECAUSE of my subscription status, that alone elevated the priority of my shipment, even though - according to the U.S. Mint Orders page - my order had already been shipped. It was again confirmed tome that no shipment had taken place, but that her systems showed I made the "special" list.

I like being "special".

Now, if I could only get off the medication...

I've been told some many times by so many mint representatives that something was just about to ship, I will wait until I actually have something in my hand. And then I'll still be somewhat skeptical!

    Subscriptions a "Special List"?

    Not a chance.

I've ordered on the first day of release and had subscriptions entered previous to first day of release in previous years.....

    Guess what....

The regular order was filled first.

Don't believe everything you hear from that call center.....probably less than 5% is accurate.

Yes you are special since ..............well...................I don;t know. You're just special!

As for PBGS and its relationship with the US Mint, I think something got screwed up.

    A couple of Facts.

Being unable to through on the Web, I was able to place an order over the phone.
I received an email confirmation of the order at 10:24am PT.
However I cannot access that order on the web. I get:

"The United States Mint could not find the page you are looking for. If you would like to place an order you can always call 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). Sorry for the inconvenience.
Click here to return to the Catalog home page. "

Additionally, when the Formative Years Sets went on sale, they almost immediately went to a 5/29 delivery date yet today they are: "Product will be available for shipping 07/13/2009" Thats mid July folks!

Something is seriously screwed up and it ain't getting anybetter!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

"Production of United States Mint American Eagle Silver Proof and Uncirculated Coins has been temporarily suspended because of unprecedented demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. Currently, all available silver bullion blanks are being allocated to the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin Program, as the United States Mint is required by Public Law 99-61 to produce these coins “in quantities sufficient to meet public demand . . . .”"

Not sure WHAT it means, but it's a different page than what's been out there for last 2-3 months... the former site nformation noted production had been suspended, blah, blah until no one want more bullion, or they have enough silver to produce both.

The page in your link is a surprise to see, but can't speak to its accuracy or reliability (especially if you've read the previous posts in here, and about a bazillion in almost any other modern thread...
