Phillies working on a double header sweep, Ibanez has hit 3 homers today, Howard has 1 and is up with the bases loaded! I would say that beats
Santana getting knocked around the yard any day! Be glad the Giants have no pitching!

Phillies are just dominating now! No one will want a piece of Ibanez anymore, but what do you do? Walk him and face Howard and Utley?

This is going to be sick!

The only thing sick about the Sillies is their pathetic pitching staff!

In the Phillies championship video there is a great shot of Prince Feilder crying in the dug out after our playoff blow out. Thought it was
    kinda funny.

Get used to talking about last year. You'll be doing it for a long, long time.

At least you weren't stupid enough to try to argue the FACT that the hottest team in baseball is the Milwaukee Brewers.

    Seriously its the Texas Rangers...

Won 7 in a row. 6-0 just finished off a recent homestand against division rivals Mariners and Angels. And they're not necessarily doing with hitting. They won today 3-0 (and I have the sunburn to prove it!). They have the best ERA in baseball in the month of May. Their starters are going deep in games, and their bullpen is actually underworked. For a club that led the MLB in relief innings the last 4 years to suddenly have the least innings is amazing. Good Pitching + Great Defense + Really Great Hitting = 2009 American League West Division Champs. I realize they have to keep this up for more than a month and half, but they way they are playing right now is really fun to watch.

23-14, 9 games over .500 and a 4.5 game lead over the Angels. Feldman was brilliant again today. 6 innings, no runs, 4 hits, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts - Very Effective. Bullpen: 3 innings, no runs, 1 hit, 1 walk, 3 K's. Amazing!!!

I'll give you that. We have the exact same record and are playing fairly similarly.

Since April 22, the Brewers are 19-5 and the Rangers are 17-7.

The Phillies are 14-10 in that same timeframe. image

The problem Milwaukee is going to have is they have to fight off three other teams (in the end I think its only going to be 2 though). That NL Central is a meat grinder with the Brewers, Cubs, Cardinals, and Reds at the top. Even the Astros are .500 team, not to be taken lightly. The Rangers only have to worry about 3 other teams total. And in reality its only going to be the Rangers and Angels fighting it out for that AL West.

I couldn't agree more. Even though we're in the toughest division in baseball, we have a great record within our division. I'm very happy with 14-7, all things considered!

Nobody can touch the 10-2 record that the Rangers have in their division, though. Weak division or not, that's a great record.

I always liked Doug Melvin when he was here. A very shrewd GM. If you guys are in it at the break, expect some wheeling and dealing. Of course you already know that. Its going to suck I'm sure to watch LaPorta develop into a superstar in Cleveland.

More than you know! Then again, we have Mat Gamel who I believe will be an even bigger star than LaPorta. Also, we really don't have anywhere to put LaPorta, so we'd be looking to move an established player to get him into the lineup.

Not only was Fielder crying in the bullpen on the championship video but that Victorino homer off CC made it too. DANG that thing left in a hurry!

stalin, I'm surprised you're not hot-shotting about your 4 game winning streak. You should be proud! You finally found a team you could sweep.

Get ready to hide under the bed again. You're playing 3 games against the 4th place team in the NL Central this week. When they're done taking your Sillies to the woodshed, we'll hear your deafening silence once again.
