Opinions on a 1910s lincoln?

Before I start, sorry for still not being able to directly post good pics. A link is at the end.

My lincoln collecting has entered the teens and I need some help judging quality coins please. This is a 1910s MS65 RB (PCGS) that I bought on line. Once in hand I notice the strike is soft (maybe not for an S mint though) and there is a granular or grainy surface to the whole thing with tiny tiny streaks all lined up in the same direction. I know about woodgrain in the teen S and D lincolns but I have never seen this. I hope the picture conveys it.

1) Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about?
2) What do you think about the strike?
3) What do you think about eye appeal - do you like it?

I, of course have my own opinons, but would like to hear others.

Thanks in advance.

Need to upload the image to a file host like Photobucket, then use the image tags (picture looking icon) in your post and link to the picture.

    Nice coin btw.

Nice looking coin. Slight spot under the 'L' but otherwise clean.

Looks good to me! Strike is decent enough, a bit soft as you've noticed - lack of definition around the ear is unfortunate. I think that is a woodgrain effect starting that would become more pronounced with more toning.

From the pic it looks like the obv is mostly red, I like it.

I don't mind the fine woodgrain surface.

Thanks guys for taking a look - it is definitely the reddest red/brown I own.

Anyone have pics of other 1910s with good strike I can compare to?

Your coin looks fine. About average for the grade.

Here's one to compare it to...also a PCGS 65RB. Much like it, huh?

ArizonaJack, Ikegwin and drwstr123 - all fantastic coins, thank you for replying. They have the strike I am looking for.

I do like the coin but might be looking for better strike - I'll mull it over this weekend and decide by Monday if it's a keeper.

    Thanks again

Nice coin for a 65RB. The spot makes it a 65 otherwise I would say it could go 66 on the obverse. I take it the reverse made it RB?
