Whitman Atlanta Show

The show is a mixed bag so far. I've had some great sales and found some neat new inventory, but many are grumbling about the lack of public. Whitman is doing a great job getting the word out about the show, but the volume of feet on the floor is pretty light.
It is, so far, a good show for me,
I'll be giving a presentation in a few hours on the second edition of my Flying Eagle and Indian Cent book.
The big news is that next year the show will be held in Nashville, TN. This is cool, I think, since there has not been a major show there for awhile. I used to live there and it will be my first time back in 20 years.

some others an oppurtunity to attend. The dealer reviews have not been great so far on this
Atlanta show.
I'm supposed to be there today. Yep, you guessed it, I'm not. Hope everybody has a good show.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

I did notice a lot more gold and silver bullion available than at the ANA show in Dalton. There seemed to be more obsolete currency around as well, but again prices seemed to be pretty high, given the traffic.
Edited to add a plug for our host: PCGS had a free shipping special for the walkthrough grading service.
I enjoyed your presentation. You set the bar high in regards to character, branding, and knowledge.
I had been looking forward to the show for about a month and brought a bunch of cash, but alas spent very little. I think it was a combination of the economy and feeling a bit overwhelmed. This was certainly a big step up from the VFW type shows I have been frequenting.
There were a couple of fine dealers who took the time to educate me on Buffalo Nickels. I sat for a few minutes trying to figure out why one was a MS64 and another a MS63. Actually like the 63 better. There were some 65's across the room that even with my limited knowledge were just dogs. Just showed me how much I need to learn about dates, mints, and the corresponding strikes.
I was offered two coins (a slabbed Snow 9 in MS65 and a slabbed AU 53 3 legged Buffalo that were bargains. I passed, feeling spending $XXX or $XXXX on a coin (slabbed or not/Graysheet or not) was not a wise choice.
Except for a moment of weakness buying a couple of CC Morgans during the auction, I likely spent more on books than coins.
Several dealers were openly complaining about the lack of business. One in particular three times over three visits to his table. Today, I saw many suitcase laden sellers/dealers (?). It was my first real show and I thought there were few people in attendance.
Highlights... Rick Snow presentation, QDB presentation, my patience, seeing the inlaws.
Lowlight... traveling from SC. Visiting my inlaws are great but it was still a 1.5 hour drive each way, each day.
What I would like to see in the future are more classes geared towards hands on education. Grading, condition... etc.
I hope the rest of Friday and saturday will be profitable...
Notlogical sent me a two piano pieces he recorded and I play them for some of the folks here. The CRO guys sat across from me and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Thanks Samuel!
A friend who started coin collecting with me back in 1970 helped me ma my table. He's in the FBI so the added security helped too. He brought a picture of both of us waiting for the bus on our first day of kindergarten from 1965! I'll post it when I get back.
We were both invited to the Braves/Diamondbacks game. It was great! Terrific game and a nail-biter finish. it was tied 3-3 and in the bottom of the 9th, the Braves got the bases loaded. A pop fly was caught, but the guy on 3rd was able to tag up and make it home. Since I was the only D'back fan there, I was allowed to moan....and live.
