R.I.P. - Wayman Tisdale - Age 44

A short life for a great college basketball player. The last several years have been tough on this guy. May he rest in peace.

that is terrible. The man broke my heart as a kid with his shot that put Louisiana Tech away deep in the tournament. I can still see it going around the rim twice before sinking. The last year we had Karl Malone, and the apex of the La Tech Basketball program. Tisdale was one of the elite college basketball players for sure.

I noted the .bot advert at the top of this post:

    Sail with Wayman Tisdale
7-Day Cruise with Top Jazz Artists. Great Jazz Music & Ports of Call!
    www.TheSmoothJazzCruise.com

Sadly, he won't be on the manifest for that sailing.
Kiss me once, shame on you.
    Kiss me twice.....let's party.

He was well loved here in SacTown. He was the best player on some very bad King's team back in the late 80's or early 90's. Though he was a great basketball player I am told he was even a better jazz musician. Amazing to be so talented. Very sad.

CANCER ... AGAIN! When they hell are we going to find a cure? Another reason why I run Marathons and race Triathlons to raise money to help find a cure!

    REST IN PEACE MR. TISDALE.
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I was in the Air Force stationed near Sacramento for several years when Wayman was at his best. He was a great player for a horrible team. He never complained and worked hard and always had a smile on his face. He did a lot of great things for the community. What a shame. A real tragedy.
