  • No idea, but my oldest are two 1954 Red Man Indians (non sport) cards in PSA 10. I had them graded myself. Out of the 395 graded (only a 40 card set) there are two PSA 10s and 23 PSA 9s.

    I think I've heard that T206 has a 10 or 2.

    Good for you.
  • There are 13 PSA 10 T206s out of 104,411 graded. That is 0.012%
  • If you consider these baseball.. The 1884 Lawson's Patent Baseball Game has 17 graded 10

1906 Fan Craze has plenty of 10s. Those cards have rounded corners.

A few years ago, I remember reading about a major find in (where else?) someone's attic where someone squirreled away a new pristine set of 1915 Cracker Jacks with several dupes. Among them, there were several cards that graded 10, including a Shoeless Joe Jackson if I recall. If there’s anyone here with that old SMR issue that can confirm, that would great.
  • crazy that cards that old can be in such great shape!

anyone have any scans of these dinosaur 10's?

I also found a 1896 N301 Mayo's Die-Cuts PSA 10. Those identify teams and positions, although they don't have specific player images.

IMO those would be the oldest PSA 10s generally accepted as sports cards. The Lawson's Game cards refer to playing the game of baseball, but not to any league, team, or player.

Anyone know which card is the oldest PSA 10, meaning the first 10 ever graded by PSA? I'd guess it would be one of the cards from David Hall's collection.

Didn't David Hall have a 52 Mantle in PSA 10 that was graded in the early days of PSA?

There was an article in the late 90s about a 1951 Bowman Mantle (you know, his REAL rookie card) in PSA 10. The owner insisted that he would not sell it unless someone offered him $100,000. Someone reading that article did indeed buy it from him for $100K.

That would not be in any old SMR, as all of those cards [that were in the late Randy Stucklemeyer's collection, after he purchased the set raw] were graded SGC 98 10 GEM MINT by SGC...and not PSA.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
