Heritage: Topps vs. Bowman

I know there is a huge following to Topps Heritage on here but I was wondering if people felt the same way about the Bowman heritage sets.

Personally my first experience with either was 2002 Bowman Heritage. It had decent RCs, (Wright, Mauer, Bay, Figgins, Jenks) great autos, (Pujols, Mauer RC, Berra) and typical inserts of gu, chromes, and parallels. So I personally had a preference to the Bowman Heritage sets, with the exception of 03 Topps which was modeled after my favorite set of all time 1954 Topps.

So I'd like to know which does everyone prefer and why.

I'm a fan of the Bowman Heritage sets to a point. With the exception of the '03 set, which was the '56 set that never was, I collected the base set with short prints, but didn't do the chrome or game used sets like I have with Topps Heritage. I did put together the black box parallels in the '02 set - they're pretty cool looking.

I've done every Topps or Bowman Heritage set + SPs + variations + and Super Short Prints. I don't know why they scrapped Bowman Heritage. They never did a 1950 set or 1953 set (Color or B/W). I really liked the 100 card prospect set they did the last couple of years I believe because they're weren't SPs, they were 2 per pack, which was an inexpensive way to pick up some cards that looked really nice autographed. I would rather see Bowman Heritage come back than Topps Heritage High Numbers.

Plus being one of the younger board members, I started collecting when I was 5 or 6 back in 1989, it would have been really cool to see a Bowman Heritage based on 1989. I guess that would have come out in 2010. 2038 Topps Heritage will be based on the 1989 set. I will turn 55 that year.
