Mike and Mike - Roger Clemens

Did anyone watch or hear Clemens' interview this morning? He said he would not even risk using steroids because of his family history with heart ailments. He said this right after saying his step-dad died of a heart attack.

Really? Are you serious? Your step-dad died of a heart attack so you decided steroids would be bad for your heart?

A friend of one of my sisters roommates cousin had high arches on his feet. Therefore, I have avoided flat shoes.

I'll save everyone +/- $30 for the latest "scandal" book.

    Google: "Roger Clemens" + steroids

There's no new evidence, no new breaking news, no nothing, just the same regurgitation of allegations.

    You're welcome in advance.

I thought that was pretty funny too. It is right up there with him saying that if he used steroids he should have a "horn growing out of his head or something." Someone did not prep him very well for that interview. Just sounded frustrated and confused. At this point I am so sick of hearing about it and I really do not care.

  • I could care less about Clemens and I'm sure many others feel the same. His stats, career and legacy are all toast. He simply needs to fade away into the sunset like Mcgwire, Sosa, Palmiero and other cheaters from his generation.

If he had simply tacked on two mediocre years with the Blue Jays following his Red Sox career then retired (i.e. no fountain of youth), would he be a HOFer?

Yes, no doubt in my mind. He'd have 3 Cy Youngs, AL MVP, 7 season with an ERA of 3.00 or better, fantastic WHIP, over 90 CG...he'd have been a lock for the HOF in that scenario..

Clemens must subscribe to the Richard Nixon school of denial, whereby you keep denying the obvious truth even when everyone else already clearly knows it. This "strategy" didn't work for Nixon and it won't work for Clemens.

Absolutely right, and in my opinion he still will be a Hall of Famer, just like Bonds will...when the stats are just too overwhelming to deny them entrance...but the votes will be interesting and maybe I'm wrong.

Roger has dug himself a hole he has no hope of getting out of. He will end up as pathetic as Pete Rose -- doing card shows once his money runs out, unless he was smart enough to save it and make it last.

I for one believe him. I think he is at serious risk for a heart attack because his step father had one.
I can't believe you guys are doubting him. This board is just so negative. image

I guess somehow those stepfather genes migrated somehow into his genes. image
