Topps Heritage Freaks---need some help

As I was going through and listing stuff on Ebay tonight I was listing a Mark Ellis Black Refractor from 2008 Hi Number C269. I was going to enter the serial number in the auction and found that there was no serial number on the back.

Does anyone know if this is a common or rare misprint/error? I know that some cards have been stamped wrong before (1957 instead of 557) but does anyone know anything about this card?

Just checking before I put it on Ebay touting it as an error because it may be common with this card.

I only have one of 269, and it has a serial number. I know Topps holds some chromes and refractors as replacements; I thought they were left with the serial number blank, followed by the slash and then the 560. Perhaps this was either received as a replacement or was intended as a replacement but packed out inadvertently (because we all know Topps would never deliberately create a "mistake" card). Keep us posted as you get information.
