What am I missing?

Does anyone know why this PSA 7 '59 Topps Hodges sold for $152.50 on ebay? The VCP average is 24.96.

and with seconds to go in the auction, that $20 something is what it was at.

My guess? 2 bidders put in all out snipes.

    It is a sellers dream.

BTW I know that seller and he is well above board.

It's a variation card that comes with a white or gray back and the gray back is harder to find especially in higher grades. If you look at the questions somebody asked about the back color and the seller replied that the back was gray. This little detail will be lost if the price goes into VCP.

Good point KB, so, it is possible that the 2 bidders knew that besides putting in an all out bid.
