With respect Louie, this is not the way to assemble a quality collection.

You need to view the coins and pick out examples that are appealing to you, as opposed to buying the cheapest examples offered.

    Hello,

I've got this 1949 S PCGS MS 65 in an Old Holder I could do for 170.00 shipped.

Luskie - Good luck finding a 50-S. This date is just impossible to find in PCGS or NGC 64 or 65!image
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

Excellent advice for all, not just for Louie. When I first started my slabbed type set, I just bought coins based on the price when i found "good deals." While several of them were great coins and ended up truly great deals, I also got stuck with a few bad coins.

Anyways, good luck with your Franklin set... and I sent out your PCGS MS64 Franklin today image

I certainly do appreciate the advice and really am not trying to put together a registry type set. I am just trying to put some money that the wife would spend into some coins that she can easily dispose of and not get cheated on when I pass. Maybe this is not the way to go but I am only an old collector who just buys and trades to pass the time. Being retired is not an easy way to go when you don't play golf, fish or do other things like that. However, I will be more selective in those I purchase and not just buy because the price is right. Thanks again for the info. Luskie
