I thought I would have received my packs on Saturday, but no luck. I would think Monday for sure. Anyone get their packs yet?
  • DoctorKDoctorK Posts: 868 ✭✭✭
Not getting mine until the '75 minis arrive.
  • minnesotahuskerminnesotahusker Posts: 642 ✭✭✭
Received mine in the mail today.

The first two cards in the pack are junked due to gum stains. Must have been potent gum.

Those included Luis Aparicio In action, Gene Mauch, Lee May and Larry Bowa.

Those not affected include Jim Palmer OC T to B, Richie Scheinblum, Carlos May, Jim Hunter, Tigers team, Dick Dietz In Action, Bert Blyleven, Tom Seaver, Chuck Dobson, Rich Hand, Ken Suarez.

Much better than the last box... just about all my cards were killed by gum. Now lets see some scans!

We'll see if I can get these to work. I just realized I was short a card. I'm guessing that was common. The first four cards in the first scan were the gum affected cards.

Is a Dick in the Hand, better than 2 in the bush?
  • OAKESY25OAKESY25 Posts: 4,726 ✭✭✭

Question for the Board...should I open the last pack or put it aside for future generations? I may have already hit my wad on these.
  • OAKESY25OAKESY25 Posts: 4,726 ✭✭✭
wow.. look at that clemente?? is it that nice in hand??
  • OAKESY25OAKESY25 Posts: 4,726 ✭✭✭
    bust it!!
  • samspopsamspop Posts: 1,993 ✭✭✭
Yes, the Clemente is nice!! I pulled the same card, but I knew it would come back OC, when we had the '72 OPC rip several months back and it came back PSA 9 (OC). This is as nice as that one, but near perfect centering.
  • OAKESY25OAKESY25 Posts: 4,726 ✭✭✭
    that looks like a 10!
  • nam812nam812 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭✭
Wow, very nice Clemente. My 4 packs are here too, but I have some things to do for a few hours. Should be able to rip and scan by 7PM EST.

Guess there is little chance that Clemente will come back EOT! I love the rough cut OPC cards!

I got a little buggered by the winds of fate... my face looked just like Roberto's when I saw him.

    Some nice ones though:

Clemente looks spectacular...that will fetch a pretty penny in a PSA 9 holder..

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Absolutely FANTASTIC Clemente! Sheesh... better check the pop reports ASAP!

I love that Concepcion too! Being a REDS fan, cards like that excite me!

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

NO PSA 10 72 OPC Clementes currently.

Would love to see this card be the first 10. Major potential. This card in a PSA 9 is not all that rare. (8 out of 89 graded).

Sorry I never got back to the thread yesterday, but a sinus infection had me down for the count. Here is the 1st pack I ripped with 3 commons that look very good to me (Gibbon, Lahoud, and Callison).

  • My pack arrived today, it only had 7 cards, but it did have some star power unfortunately no centered star power. It was a blast opening a 37 year old pack though!

Pack 3 had a McCovey that might grade 8, but that's about it as the rest aren't really grade-able.

Looks like some pretty good cards this go-around, thanks for the scans.
  • nam812nam812 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭✭
Pack 4, my final pack, had 1 common in really nice shape (Osteen in action).

    Love that Pepitone...

    Perfect guy/pose/look for a 1972 Topps/OPC card.

  • Ouch. That was painful.

    3 packs

    21 cards

11 gum stained cards (gum leaked to third or fourth card in each pack of 7)

2 borderline gradable commons (need to check the pop report)

    1 star...ruined
