PSA Filps

A couple of weeks ago a guy was walking some high cards around a show. He said the cards were purchased from big auctions houses, etc and was dropping names.
Some of the cards looked good, but some didn't. Two cards in particular raised suspicion. One of the cards was a 1941 Play Ball Ted Williams PSA 8. It looked like a gift PSA 8. That card another, I can't recall the card now, had flips where the back was blank, just plain blue.
Has PSA ever had flips that were blank on the back, no hologram or no PSA logo, etc?
I passed on buying any of the cards due to these two, but some of the cards were fine I believe. Those two cards didn't make me comfortable with the deal as a whole. The SMR value of what was there was north of $50,000.
Before someone asks, I did email PSA and they said they need a scan of the flip to tell if it was bad. Of course I don't have a scan since I didn't buy the cards.

Here's an example of what the OP describes on ebay now. The card looks too o/c for the grade to me. I have a 67 Mantle and a 68 Aaron with the same blank flip. My cards look ok for the grade. When PSA re-holders, do they print a new flip, or re-use the old one?
