10,001$ I added the extra dollar in case it comes down to me and someone else who bid 10,000$ at the last sec so I would come out ahead. So please don't go pulling a price is right and bid 10,002.

It is a sad day people, My bid has not held up but on a side note who here thinks it might brake 1,000,000 with juice.

All you need is two rich guys from New Orleans to break $1M. Barring that, I doubt it.

Seems to me that's more of a million dollar coin than several that have already been there - but in this economy, perhaps not.

I was thinking that it had it all plus the it factor to push the 1,000,000 mark. Its very close now and only need a couple more bids.

The thing about this coin......I was expecting it to be more P-L than it was. I don't doubt the provenance, or the specimen designation (Halperin tweeted over the weekend that PCGS now agrees with the "specimen" status), but I was hoping it would be closer to a Philly proof in appearance. Maybe I'm just spoiled from looking at too much modern proof gold.

So, the history is all there, the services are all there, but is the coin all there?

it is more PL than my 56o, yes that coin is all there. It's important on so many levels

I do not do gold so I have no idea how to grade gold, but if this is such a great gold coin, how come it only garnered a SP63?
