I'm thinking about having some of my T218 cards reviewed - Opinions welcomed/wanted

I picked out 14 cards from my complete T218 registry set that look to be undergraded to me. I will post all of them here and welcome any thoughts you all may have about any or all the cards pictured. Here are the cards I have chosen, and the backs have no problems to speak of.

    Hi Nick,

I'd say yes to all except the Herreshoff, Manley, Keating, Nelson and Riley.

    Great looking cards overall!

    Good luck to ya!

Hi Nick , For starters , nice cards . I think all would get a bump or two , except Haywood , Johnson ( Very nice card-- WOW ) , Keating , Nelson , Riley , and Sutton .

Yeah, OK. Any excuse to parade those in front of me, eh, Nick? Some people.

Seriously, I think it's almost a given that some of those will come back higher. Heck, send 'em all in. At worst, you'll be out a few fees for the trouble. If you don't, you'll always wonder or send 'em in eventually, anyway.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll let us know how it turns out, complete with even more scans, etc., etc.

Just look closely at the PSA 4's for any hidden tiny creases. If none, those cards all seem undergraded by 1 - 2 grades. The 5's also could bump to 6 if no wrinkles are present and the backs are clean like the front. The 6's all seem graded correctly and the Johnson has just a little to wear on the right side corners for a full bump but could end up 7.5.

Any way that you go, those are some beautiful cards -- good luck.

There looks to be paper loss on the upper right corner of the Sutton, very hard to get a bump over 6 with that.

So far I agree with many of the comments, and have taken a few of the cards above out of contention. Thanks for all the nice words about the cards as well.

They look great for the most part Nick. I didn't scrutinize them as much as some probbaly did but barring minor creases or paper wrinkles most should get bumps. Great colors in these!

The Cross and Nelson are certainly prospects for a bump, but I'd send in anything under a 5 and see what happens. I've always liked that set because it's one of the more affordable pre-war sets in existence, and the Great White Hope is featured twice!

Thanks to all who lent their opinions, they were very helpful in making my final cuts. I took only 8 of the cards above, and added 2 more I had for a nice round 10 count. Here is what I sent:

    Chas. J. Bacon Jr. - Was a PSA 4 - Returns as a PSA ?
    Tom Collins - Was a PSA 6 - Returns as a PSA ?
    Leach Cross - Was a PSA 4 - Returns as a PSA ?
    Budd Goodwin - Was a PSA 5.5 - Returns as a PSA ?
    Harry Haywood - Was a PSA 6 - Returns as a PSA ?
Jack Johnson Side face - Was a PSA 7 - Returns as a PSA ?
Jack Johnson Side face - Was a PSA 5 - Returns as a PSA ?
    Ralph Johnstone - Was a PSA 6 - Returns as a PSA ?
    George Sutton Portrait - Was a PSA 6 - Returns as a PSA ?
    Ad Wolgast - Was a PSA 6 - Returns as a PSA ?

I sent them in under the "regular" submission type which is $15 per card (now only $7.50 per card because of the May special for reviews) with an approximate 10 business days turnaround time.

I will update this thread to show results (whether good or bad). Thanks again.
