Authenticating oversized items

Does anyone know if PSA offers any kind of service for authenticating items that are too large to fit in their holders? Specifically, a photo issue (Carling Black Label photo, that measures 8.5" x 12", which as far as I know, is too large to be slabbed). If such a service is offered to authenticate it, how is it done? I mean is the item "tagged" somehow with some kind of tamper-proof identifier? Or do they just issue some kind of separate certificate with the authentication information? Seems like if it were the latter, it would be easy to simply place the certificate with a bogus item.

Yes, they put a sticker on it that has the same # as the cert and they swab the item with DNA.
