My First Upgrade Now a Pop 1/1

dbldie55dbldie55 Posts: 7,719 ✭✭✭✭✭
I sent in a PR65 1883 Liberty Nickel for a designation review (the coin that is my icon). The submission status went from received to shipped yesterday (with no other information). I figured they just kept all three coins the same (I had my nickel in with a couple other's my local dealer sent in).

Well, I just checked the certification number for my 1883, and it is now listed as a PR65DC instead of a PR65. This should be just the second DCAM 1883 No Cent (the other is a PR66). I wanted a DCAM when I bought it, but when I received it, was not sure it would warrant more than CAM. Now this is a happy day, cannot wait to get it back next week.

Congrats on the upgrade. Do you have any pics to post for us to see?
Buy the coin, not the holder!

I do not have the coin back yet. But here is a scan of the coin "before". The holder was scratched up, so at least I wanted a new holder. For what it is worth, Rick T. has an image of a PF67 Ultra Cameo on his site that is out of this world.

The coin could have been a 66 except for one small mark by the chin.

    Wow- congrats! DCAM! I'm impressed!

You should make a bigger (100X100) icon out of it, like I did with my old proof Indian...

Tough coin! Congratulations! PCGS is strict on these early DCAM designations. Good eye!

I love his '07 dime. Dunno if it will CAM or not, but it sure is beautiful...

Thanks Don, I thought of your Cent when I sent it in. It has never actually been "home". I picked it up at the Post Office, went across the street to the Coin Shop and gave it to the owner to send in for designation review. It can finally come home, as soon as it gets back some time next week.
