For you Babe Ruth fans............

http://www.cranmoremountainlodge.com/Babe Ruth.html

This is the lodge in New Hampshire that Julia Ruth-Stevens and Babe's son in law owned in the 1940's.
Babe Ruth would visit it quite often during their ownership.

There is a Babe Ruth room #2, that he always stayed in while he visited. If you want to stay in a room on vacation
where the Babe stayed many times, then make your reservations. It's kind of like for those people who like to visit Elvis Presley's house
I guess.

My uncle Joe got the Babe to autograph a stationary from the lodge dated 1941. It was passed to my uncle Mike, then
my dad, and then me. We've never been to this lodge, but New Hampshire is very nice in the summer time. Lots of decent
summer things to do for the outdoors type, and those who like to get away from it all.

I wonder what those notches that Babe etched into the bedpost signify? image

So the Babe was eating hot dogs, gambling and "doing it" all at the same time in bed? Now that's impressive. LOL

No, no, no. When it comes to Babe Ruth and doing it, gambling and hotdogs were the name of the game. They're all one in the same.

That is cool to have an autograph like that knowing for sure it is genuine. I don't own any that good, but a close friend of mine's father, celebrating his 90th birthday this year, and the biggest Phillies fan I know, used to get AL autographs all the time when visiting teams were playing the A's in Philadelphia. He has multiple Ruth autographs as well as every other star from the 30's to the 50's you can think of - I've been fortunate to view and hold the pieces of paper a number of times and it is quite a lot of fun to behold.

There's a guy on ebay named "paoldguy". I've been to his house near that flower expo outside Philadelphia. Kennet Square ???
Anyway, he has every Phillie autograph who ever played for the Phillies from when they started up till now. He has no children,
and I believe he will have his collection go to a trust someday. I believe he's been involved with Hunt's Auctions over the course
    of his collecting career.

You're right - it's in Kennett Square - famous area for their mushrooms.

Wow - I'd pay to see that autograph collection.
