I got to sign autographs tonight, fun time

Tonight was opening night for our community theatre performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, 1 of 3 performances over the next couple days. I'm a life long sports person, but my 11 year old son is a theatre person so I've been trying to take an interest in that for him. This was my 2nd production to be in with him. We have had a blast (albeit tiring) together the last month of rehearsals and hanging out. He's a neat kid.

We had a crowd of several hundred tonight despite an unairconditioned outdoor Chataqua type theatre in the Texas heat. After it was over, I got to sign about 20 autographs. Really fun time. However, I can see how quickly people must get tired of signing, as some seekers are just plain rude. Interrupting conversations between you and your family/friends, asking for graphs while you are trying to eat, asking when you have your hands full and you have to put all your stuff down to sign etc. Fun and neat for an occasion like this, but if you had to do it every single time you went out, it would get old real quick.

Here's a photo of me as an Ishmaelite. I'm the old guy on the right.

I usually post a link to a video of my son singing but they didn't have any kids' solo's in this one. Oliver is the next play however, and he should get the lead for that one so I'll post those around Christmas time, he's pretty good. I only get non-singing roles though image
