What the heck have we gotten ourselves into? THE OFFICIAL APRIL SUB THREAD - IF THERE IS POPPAGE, L

I started getting some cards ready to sub, last minute April special. Then I got to thinking it will never get any cheaper than this, so I got the bright idea of submitting a bunch of dupes to pay for a lot of the submission. 700 cards later, I am about to fill out the submission form.

I have lost my mind.

Yep, it does suck. It'll be down to the wire, I have to leave to go out of town on a day trip around 10 am so it all needs to be done by then.

Ron - Good luck and hope you get some sleep tonight.

I had around 100+ cards ready to go this weekend and then trimmed it down to 60+. Shipped out Monday, package was received yesterday, still not logged in yet today, I have a feeling there's a flood of last minute April Special orders and a growing backlog waiting to be logged.

Thanks Don. I'm hoping to get half the sub done tonight and finish it in the morning. Working on 59 Topps now, 58-60 and 65 are the big parts of this sub.

Have to have the stickers on them but they don't have to be as pretty as it says on the site instructions. I always use mailing labels from my office and just cut them in half to make 2 stickers from each one.

I am sitting here right now at work trying to finish up my sub. My business partner thinks I am nuts. I told myself that I was going to sub 25 cards. I am at 56 right now. I could easily get to a 100 just with RC's alone. I think 60 is my limit for this one. Does anyone know what's the special for may?

I'm glad to know I am not alone. Twenty-five turned into 126. I mailed them Monday. I have always used the stickers. I wonder if there is a correlation between using stickers and the turnaround time. My last two subs were graded quickly. Others have taken the maximum time.
  • Options
I don't use the stickers any more and have stopped listing the cards on the submission form as well. I submit an excel spreadsheet along with a partially completed submission form from the online submission and send it out. Saves tons of time on my end and has not affected logging and grading of my cards on their end.

I wish I had remembered to take pictures of the group submission before sending it off. Every CS1 had it's own sticker on it with the order number, line number and card information. I have a mail merge document set up so all of my labels look like this:

    Order 123456

    Order 123456

I just made it to the post office with 106 cards total I think,,,,

I had too many and couldn't decide on a flitering system.

I left most of my error/variations out because I need more time to seriously examine and file them properly.

The woman at the post office laughed at me when she said " no debit/no credit, machine broke" and I had to runn outside down the block to the ATM and back in 6 mintues.

Anyway I got over 100 in on the special included most of the Leaf that people ask for; even though I still have a ton of them tooo....

well, if psa does another special or a group rip comes about I ll be ready with a 100 more., lol

what pressure to bang out the whole process in 2 days for 100 cards and leave so many beauties at home.,

good luck to all submitters,. lol

If you have stamps.com you could have (and still can until midnight) print a label with today's date and then take an extra day or two without anyone knowing. You would just have to guesstimate the weight.

Jeff, you have given me hope for quick poppage. My order is 2 cards less than yours with a lot of Ripken cards and a few 1986 Fleer basketball thrown in. Looks almost identical to yours.

My last bulk order was done in record time too. I think 4 or 5 days?

From the day I mailed it to the day I got them back was less then 2 weeks.

    Steve
