BB'd or graded?

Okay, I have these two that I want to figure out if they'll be passed off into a genuine slab or graded...

First, the WLH, notice the chunk missing on the obverse. Would it pass? If so, how bad of a point deduction would that be considered?

Then the SLQ. Notice it has hardly any hits, but it does have a medium hit by the I and then another in between the 3rd and 4th star up on the left hand side. If you think she'll grade, throw a number out. These coins came from the same set that 1917 buffalo came from in my guess the grade and win a prize thread.

Yes, both will grade. The half looks like a lamination peel that came off. Like to see that in a MS64/5
The quarter will grade as well, MS63/4
This is a very dumb ass thread. - Laura Sperber - Tuesday January 09, 2007 11:16 AM image

WL, Yes - 64 (65 knocked down for lamination - eye appeal)

    SL, Yes - 64-FH

A few months ago I would have said both. Today I don't think the half will and the quarter yes based upon my experience of about 300 coins submitted over the past 6-9 months.

    Good luck.

Both appear harshly cleaned. BB for both.

Hey thanks for the advice. Guess it will not hurt to give `er a shot. This is one of those mixed feelings situations. I'll give it a shot and see what the results are and post them when they are in.

The lamination won't hold the half back. The problem for both coins is apparent cleaning. However, it might not be harsh enough for PCGS to genny them.
