Anyone have any good stories about "whale" collectors?

If you are a "whale" [for some reason I have never liked that term
] and have any good hobby stories, please regale us with same.
If you are not a whale collector, but have a story which involves one, please regale us with same.
The only such story I know of is the one described in Allison Frankel's book on the 1933 Double Eagle. In that book the government 's snitch abused the trust and confidence of a wealthy person who had hired him to locate, acquire and assemble a complete set of high grade Saints.
The acquistion was accomplished, but the snitch absconded with the coins, sold them to a dealer and pocketed the money.
