$600.00 for a 1799 $1 PCGS VF-30 is not a reasonable price. It is a steal IF the coin is legit.

The certification number checks out but the slab still could be a fake.

Great deal if it is real. Hard to see the cert number clearly in the pic (not that it couldn't have been copied from a real one).

Set up a meet and pay face to face upon satisfactory inspection.

no way, no how is it real. That is several times below wholesale. You know that price people will pay sight unseen for classic PCGS stuff. If you want that I will also let you have a 1874 cc trade PCGS in MS63 for $900. Not even stupid, blind grandmothers who need money for rent wound let it go for that price. Are you kidding, You could walk in to the biggest a-hole dealer, the kind that this board spend hours talking about a day and he/she would give you more money than that for that coin. Can I make it any clearer? Where are people like you when I sell my stuff?

    The coin is probably legit.

Question is -- Does the seller have the coin, or could it be stolen, or ?

Well, I am in MInnesota, and the seller isn't. Good luck buying the coin and receiving it via mail. laugh. DYODD.

2k+ coin. I'll echo what others have said, the chances of getting a real coin (or any coin) is pretty slim.

Now, just maybe the seller will take a cashier's check... Yeah, and maybe you accidentally make it for $1600... Yeah... And tell him to take it to the bank and keep an extra hundred bucks for his trouble, just send you $900 and the coin... Yeah... That should work out just fine.

    Or just walk away.

Ask to pick it up in person.

My guess is the photo was stolen from a dealer website or e-bay.

How is this not just another stolen coin?

It's a $2500+ coin. How much sense does $600 make? How many warning bells does it set off for you?
    When in doubt, don't.

I said this in a thread yesterday...I would NEVER deal with anyone on Craigslist unless they were buying from me with a Postal money order that I cashed before mailing.
