    There seem to be two type:

    D&H #79 EDGE: PAYABLE AT S.SALMONS I CURTNEY & E FROST PORTSEA X.

    and the scarce variety

    D&H #79a EDGE: PAYABLE AT S SALMONS I CURTNEY & E FROST X.

    There is a third edge option - 79b - Plain (not in collar). This edge variety is an RR token, and a fourth edge option documented in the additions by Allan Davisson as 79c "PORTSMOUTH HALFPENNY PAYABLE AT THOS SHARPS X".

    This is a common token that I find quite interesting. The 3 individuals named on the edge were all inn keepers, Samuel Salmon kept the "Brown Bear, John Courtney kept the "George" and Edward Frost kept the "Anson", named for the ship HMS Anson. The Salmon of the reverse refers to the first, St. George and the Dragon on the obverse to the second, and the ship on the reverse, to the third.
