Grades- world tour

Well... its time once again for... you guessed it... grades. This time it is NGC. Why NGC? I wanted afew coins in all sizes in the new holder (which is now old for just about evryone else..)

First stop

Philippines

1912-s 1 Centavo grade... MS64 BN - agreed
1914-s 1 Centavo grade... same as above - agreed

Germany

Hamburg 1895 5 Mark grade... EF40 - harsh- disagree
Prussia 1913 3 Mark grade... MS62 - harsh-disagree

Canada

1926 CENT grade... MS63 BN- this was a tough call and the grade is higher than what I expected-still attractive
1915 CENT grade... AU58 This is the first LC I have ever submitted for grading-it maybe the last

Mexico

1868 GO 8R grade... MS63 (this looked so much better when I bought it and I agree with the grade now)
1831 ZS 8R EF40
1846 MO 8R EF40
1821 ZS 8R EF40

Originalty was no help with the 8R grading. I understand the 63, but the others were deserving of 45-50. The 1821 has a terrific strike even though the eye appeal is well short of what I look for.

GB

1902 1/2d low tide AU58- I agree with the grade
1902 1d MS64- agreed
1886 FLORIN EF40- ORIGINALITY punished
1743 Shilling BB- seen much worse in holders, but not surprised

I will have another thread about some other coins that should be more entertaining soon

I just had a low tide 1902 1/2d graded as well. Congrats on the 1d - did it get RD?
