A buddy of mine just sold a 1915 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson PSA 1 for $4,700.

  • According to VCP (Vintage Card Prices), a PSA 1 sold on 1/5/2006 for $3227 and then again on 4/29/2007 for $5875. The first auction has held on eBay and the second was sold by REA. In response to your question, I did take a few minutes to review the trends for each grade from PSA 1 to PSA 8 -- it appears that this card has held its value at the higher end (to the degree that there are transactions) and the card has gone up in the lower grades. That said, there are a few high grade Cracker Jacks for sale now and it will be interesting to see if the HOF PSA 8s can hold.

All depends on which set its from..... and how ugly the "1" is.

The E145-1 (1914) cards are about 10+X rarer than the E145-2 (1915) cards.

E145-2 cards were only found in boxes, E145-2 cards were in boxes and also obtained as a complete set from the company for a few cents.

Does anyone else feel like 'fkw' could probably talk for three days about pre-war cards and never repeat himself? Seriously, your knowledge on this stuff seems (to me) unparalleled.

    Thanks Boopotts image

Been doing the PreWar thing since I was 12 and traded a handful of 1960-70s Topps cards for a 1933 Goudey (R319) Ruth (#144), and was hooked ever since. Going on 30 years now in vintage.

Wish I would have chosen the Zeenut Jim Thorpe card the guy also had instead of the Ruth image ........ but its all good.
