Queen Vicky Photos from Life Mag. Archives

Life Magazine has recently allowed Google to start posting millions of old photos from Life's archives, including many that have never been seen before. I noticed several here that UK coin collectors might enjoy perusing! image

Actually that was Kaiser Wilhelm II's daughter. Put your tongues back in your mouth, she was only 16 in this picture.image

Hmmm...the caption for the photo on that website claimed it was Vicky's eldest. image

  • Is there a date for the Picture?

Queen Victoria's daughter Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa 1840-1901 was Pricess Royal of Great Britain and for a time Crown Princess of Prussia.

Wilhelm II 's (son of V.A.D.L. just above) had a daughter Viktoria Luise 1892-1980. From the detail of the picture and the title of "plain" princess, I tend to think it was the latter.

Note neither had the exact name "Louise".

    1908 for the picture.
  • <<1908 for the picture.>>

Of the 3 Victoria's, only the youngest was alive then.

Both Queen and Emperesses Victoria's, mother and daughter, Britain and Prussia, India and Germany died in 1901.
