Complete 1995 Score Platinum set

You guys remember last August how I got a complete 1995 Score Platinum set? Well, it looks like I don't have the only complete set in existance after all. image But still, this is a drop dead gorgeous set and I think it's only fair to let you guys in on this set that's now for sale. Unlike my set, this set DOES have the Certificate of Authenticity cards and the original cases. I know there was one guy who said he would've paid $100 for the set, well, here's your chance.

Remember, less than 4950 of each card exist in platinum form and it is a beautiful set. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Everyone in the basic set Bill...you had to collect the Gold Rush set for each team and send it in...they'd send a Platinum set in return. So it's basically a collection of multiple team sets.

They're nice cards, and I'm sure the set looks great in Estil's binder.

Here are a few examples from my collection:

I bought a Rangers team set to get these, and I'm pretty sure I have the others in a box somewhere. Jose Canseco was the other main player in the team set, I think.

I know the seller of this set personally and he's a great guy.

Seeing Clark in that old school Rangers garb looks weird. That must be a spring training shot, since the Rangers switched to red in 1994 and wore it through 1999. Clark's last year in Arlington was 1998. I don't think I've ever seen him wearing the throwback blues.

Well, it's almost $100 with 4 1/2 hours to go. At least this set is getting some respect. I hope someone on here wins the set; that'd be cool image

I think that's how much you originally did have to pay per team set redemption along with the Gold Rush cards and the redemption card (which was good for up to four team sets).

  • Well, the $2 per team set went out the window. Decisions, decisions.
  • Wow, that went for a little more than I thought it would. Either way, it's a nice purchase and sound investment.

This looks like a fun bet, and in fact I almost put in a gong bid just for the hell of it. Just about every major star is pop 0 in PSA 10; if the set's well centered it should be a gold mine.

If I was a betting man, my money would be on a "divide and sell" play. With all those zero pop 10's in the set, this could be a goldmine, as was stated earlier in the thread.

PSA 10? Pop zero? I don't understand these words you all are saying.
  • BunchOBullBunchOBull Posts: 6,188 ✭✭✭
    Man that set did well.

The Frank sells for $1.00 at auction...$2.00 on an exceptional day...the value is in the set as a while IMO.

Standard Catalog set price is $100. $60 for first series, $40 for 2nd. I think Estill needs sales commission from that guy.

Standard Catalog also mentions a production of 4950 per team set.

Imagine how hard it was pre-internet to get all those gold cards together much less make complete team sets and redeem them.

    All bow before Ebay.

Wonder what the multiplier on these say from a 1996 Beckett was? I bet at least 20x.

Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

And what's the Standard Cat. for a mint '86 Ryan, Brett, Schmidt or Sandberg? Find me as many mint raw copies as you can and I promise you I'll pay 2x high book for each. It'll be a great deal for both of us.
