WTB the best Wayne Gretzky rookie I can get for $250.00

I would like to buy the best Wayne Gretzky rookie card that I can get for $250.00. Would prefer a decent looking Sportscaster or OPC, Yes, I do realize that I'm not going to be getting a PSA 7 or above of those and that's not my expectation. I want a visually attractive one to get autographed.

If I don't find a reasonably priced Sportscaster or OPC, then I'll consider Topps, but as those seem to be pretty plentiful, I'd prefer the Sportscaster or OPC.

Or, I could trade historical autos as well.

    Hi Doug,

    Thanks for the link, but I had a little bit of concern over that holder. I don't mind KSA, but it looks a bit frosted to me. might just be the scan, but I can't tell for sure.

    He is not doing a scheduled signing but he is doing an appearance where a guy is going to try and get it signed for me. I am paying him around $100 if he's succesful in getting it autographed. Last year at the same event he was able to get several items signed. I don't know if he's all booked up or not, last I heard he only had one spot left, but I can ask for you and find out. If he's filled up, then if I'm unable to find a suitable card for myself by then, I'll send yours if you want for you. Let me know if you want me to ask.

    if you can get Gretzky to sign for 100, I would go for it. most of the time anything under 175 is a good deal.

    Hey Mike!!! I wish I knew you were interested!!! I recently sold a PSA 8 (OC) for only $175....they called it OC, but it wasn't bad at all!!

    Well...I got a PSA 7 I would let go for that price if it wasn't for the set that came along with it.....I kinda want them all to go together....

    Are there any other hockey HOF'ers with true rookie cards in the set that I could use to send to them for TTM autographs?

    If so, I wouldn't mind buying the whole set if it didn't add a whole lot to the cost if I needed to in order to get the Gretzky.

    No Mike...I believe in 1979 it was only Wayne..... VCP average on the straight 7 is $225.....I kinda wanna keep it with the set since it adds value to it.....if I sold it alone, noone would want the set...

    I understand Gretzky's company (Wayne Gretzky Authentic) will be doing a private signing later this year if you want to wait. Gretzky sig's are usually alot better for his private signings than his in-person ones. They will also put the Gretzky hologram on the item and you will get a COA. The last private signing was a few years ago and the autograph prices varied from $199 to $399 depending on what type of item was signed.
