    tis a pretty looking bar and just the right size to get a sizeable chunk
    of silver with a lower premium over the smaller ones in quantity.

    assuming you can get the bar for a reasonable premium. ebay never
    seems that way but some bullion dealer out there must get them from
    the manufacturer of it.

    That price includes 19% VAT, so of course it's at least 19% over spot. In Germany, VAT for coins is a bit lower, which is why Cook Islands has been relatively successful with their line of bullion bar "coins" in various sizes, including 1 kg, 100 oz. (a bit over 3 kg) and 5 kg. And they are produced in Germany. But other countries in Europe do not differentiate between coins and bars when it comes to precious metal bullion.
