Is this price drop typical?

If a silver Washington quarter is made in MS67, top pop of a little over 30 coins, is it typical for the PCGS price guide value

for this coin to drop around 20% soon after being made?

If the price drops that fast it is a good possibility that more were graded the same and maybe haven`t hit the pop charts yet

PCGS Price guide value are not based upon populations otherwise there would be a lot more high priced moderns out there.

They are based upon dealer to dealer sales transaction along with recent auction sales and occasionally on private sales.

As for the prices dropping on correlation with the addition of one more coin to the pops, I think that is just a circumstantial coincidence.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I wish they were based on "dealer to dealer sales." Actually they are dealer ask prices (from the price guide home page):

"The prices listed in the PCGS Price Guide are average dealer asking prices for PCGS graded coins. The prices are compiled from various sources including dealer ads in trade papers, dealer fixed price lists and website offerings, significant auctions, and activity at major coin shows. Dealer specialists and expert collectors provide pricing input. Remember that the prices are just a guide, a starting point for asserting value. Some PCGS coins sell for less than the prices listed and some PCGS coins sell for more than the prices listed."
