Gee,
What's going on here in South Florida sports?
The Dolphins make a huge "turn-a-round" winning next to nothing in 2007 and becoming a play-off contender in 2008!
The Miami Heat struggled to win just 15 games during the 2007-08 season, and with one of the biggest turnarounds in NBA history, are one of the hottest teams in the NBA, heading into the play-offs (#5 seed, playing against the Atlanta Hawks in the 1st round!).
And now, how about the Florida Marlins, and their "over-achievers", with the lowest team payroll in all of the MLB. Have the best start since their 1997 team, and are playing great! Hitting, pitching, fielding are just too much!
It must be something in the water here?
Go Fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the Florida Marlins complete the sweep of the Altanta Braves.
This is the first time ever that the Fish swept the Braves in Atlanta!

P.S. Good pitching and hitting again for Florida!
5-1, 10-4 & 6-2 (sweeping Atlanta! Yikes!), The Fish are now 8-1, baseball's best! (way too early, but still pretty cool for us here in South FLA!)

Marlins come from behind in the ninth to win again! (think they are 9-1 now!)

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
<< <i>Lots of Marlin fans chiming in here...a better question is: if they make the World Series will they actually sell out one of the home games?? >>
No!
But selling-out playoff/WS games didn't stop the Fish from "winning it all" a few times before!
Playing great baseball to open-up the season and the anticipation of our new "retractable roof" stadium being built in Miami may help fill some of those empty playoff seats!

the marlins are behind 5-0 in the first! win it in 11 innings 9-6.
5-0 on this road trip! Not an error in the last three games. Great relief pitching.
10-1

The biggest problem with the teams in Florida, especially being new ones like the marlins and the rays is that you have so many transplanted residents who have loyalties with other teams, its tough to build a fan base. Throw in the weather and the multitude of other things to do in Florida and you have a bad situation when it comes to selling out baseball games.
The Marlins do it again!
Rally to beat the Washington Nationals for a 4 game on the road, sweep!
fish are now 11-1

But Atlanta (6-6) and the Mets (6-6) are in a tie for second place, both 5 games behind the first placeMarlins (11-1)

This is rapidly becoming unfunny.
