Value of photo negative

A co-worker of mine is in possession of the original 35mm negative of Keith Smart's last second jump shot to win the 1987 NCAA title for Indiana. Does any one have an idea of its value?

  • Could you clarify your statement? I'm sure quite a few people have taken photographs of the Keith Smart shot. Are we talking about the "official version"?

Is that Steve Carlton in the dark blue sweater behind him?
  • Not sure what is meant by the "official" version, but it is the original negative from the film that was present in the Superdome in 1987 that produced the image attached to the mesage thread. The image attached is zoomed and cropped from the original photo. The negative was purchased by my co-worker's father from the photographer who snapped it.
  • $5-10 ?

Many photographers took pics. Unless this pic was used for a magazine cover, sports card etc......

Yeah I would say $5-15 or so. Unless there's some crazy provenance or it was used on the cover of SI or something, I don't see it being worth a whole bunch. But what do I know?
