When they went to the mound in the first and he told them that his arm was toast, did he have an intrepreter with him?

Yea, he worked hard for a few seasons but now it seems he'd rarther be doing something else - a burnt out mercenary.

Of course it's not true for every player, but there is little doubt that these fat, guaranteed multi-year contracts usually affect performance in a negative way.

One reason among many reasons why the NFL is so great is there are basically no guaranteed contracts, other than the signing bonuses - I think it's "human nature" that "no guaranteed money" keeps an athlete motivated - very motivated to stay in shape, practice, and improve their game.

Think there is a lot to be said about WBC helping hitters get "kick-started", but not too good for pitchers. I saw a TV interview with Jorge Cantu, who batted .360 for Mexico in the WBC.

Cantu said that hitting in the WBC really helped him get the season off to a good start at Florida. Other big name MLB hitters that played in the WBC have echoed the similar sentiments as Cantu, per that sports announcer at Cantu's TV interview!

But pitching? Well, just ask Dice K! image

    Hey Stalin,
On top of being a welcher, it is apparent that you are a racist d-bag to boot. Care to inform us on your other character flaws?
  • Again, Dice K's problems are from poor off season conditioning and has nothing to do with the WBC. You don't get "dead arm" from pitching a total of 43 innings (counting WBC and 1st 2 games this season). This dude threw over 200 pitches in a game more than once before signing with the Red Sux. Then he got paid and got lazy.
