Won a "Shirt off the Back" Saturday night.

Went to the Manchester Monarchs (LA Kings AHL Team), last game Saturday night. They had a "shirt off the back" promotion at the end of the game. I was one of the lucky 25 or so to win a jersey. Here is my son on the ice after the game and the jersey we got.
#2, Andrew "Soupy" Campbell. He is the first full guy on the left, all 6' 4" of him.

    That is really cool. I've got season tickets for the Chicago Wolves and they do the same thing. In fact, they also did theirs Saturday night. The AHL rocks!

    It certainly does. We went to about a dozen games in Lowell and Manchester. We have 3 game pucks, a dozen or so warm-up pucks, my son has been on the Zamboni, and now the jersey. He doesn't know how easy he's got it!!

    Did the team contact you prior to the game or was it a surprise?
    So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    Winners had their names on the scoreboard halfway through the 3rd period. They sold raffle tickets for a dollar with the money going to the Special Olympics and the Monarchs charity. The buyers put the tickets in the bucket of the player that they wanted to win. I did 50, just about 2 in each bucket. Some hardcore people were doing 100 + tickets in only one or two buckets of their favorites. He sees my name on the jumbotron and says "we win, we get to go on the ice!" They gave us the envelope and wouldn't let us open it until it was out turn. the PA guy was on the ice, going from winnner to winner announcing which jersey you were getting. The lady next to us got the Kevin Westgarth. We just got very lucky.

    Yup, signed it right there for us, all the guys were given new sharpies from the team. The jersey was soaked with sweat and wet from the ice, very nice!
