I just saw this thread and as a semi-Cleveland guy I can offer suggestions if anybody wants. I will be on a stupid cruise during this show so I won't be around, unfortunately.
So are most people staying downtown and how many of them will have cars at their disposal?
Thought I would revive this thread....has anything been officially planned? My son and I are headed up for the whole week. We are planning on going to a game in Cincinnati as well as an Indians game and of course the Football HOF.
I find that the best part of the National is the social stuff around the show. I will be in Cleveland from Wed night thru Sat morning, but I'm already planning my evening activities. I am going downtown to enjoy the nightlife, though !!!
Last year in Chicago, I coordinated a meet-up for all vintage card & memorabilia collectors. I picked a restaurant that was a mile or two from the convention center. No one really showed up, because most people had flown in and stayed at a hotel within walking distance to the show. In hindsight, I should have picked a restaurant within walking distance of the hotels & show. Oh well - live and learn. The Cleveland expo center is in the middle of nowhere, so that idea won't work. I'm still debating if I'm coordinating any meet-up.
Clemaz, Myself, MBMiller and Samspop decided to skip the Indians game on friday night. We were pretty tired walking around the show for 8.5 straight hours. I guess it was a good thing we didn't go to the game because it went 13 innings.
