I am sure this has happened to others

You get someone bidding on your auction who keeps bidding on your auction(s) to the point where it looks like shill bidding. I kind of have a person with a lower rating that is doing that and I do not want another person to think that it is a shill bidding account.

If it is legit, do not worry about it. I have had similar things happen also. I think that happens every so often........just as long as it is not TOO often. ")

    Hi Kirk,

That has happened to me a few times as well, but then again it probably happens to everyone at sometime or another.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out as far as how many items of yours he/she wins.

A couple different factors to consider before worrying about what other potential bidders many think, might be:

    1) the ratio of items he/she is bidding on, versus the total number of items you have listed, could be a factor. It would surely be more of a red-flag to some people if he/she bids on 90% of 100 items vs 90% of only 10 items.

    2) the number of auctions won by the buyer might affect some people into believing all is well, versus if the buyer didn't win any, especially out of a large number of bids.

Short of blocking the person in question, there's really nothing logically worthwhile to do. You certainly don't want to lose any sales.

While I can understand your concern about what others might think, I wouldn't worry about it. You're clean and that's all that should matter to you. Those that are concerned about shilling can always click on the bidder's hidden id to see his/her bidding details.

It's really sad that many unscrupulous members of the eBay world make good people like yourself feel a sense of guilt for no reason!

I hope your sales are affected in a positive way!

Happened to me when I was selling my 1953 Mantle.

I freaked for a while then realized nothing I could do.

    New ebayers bid like that.

Everything went ok, the guy with all the bids ended up winning and paid quickly, no issue!!

I have what might be a dumb question:

How would other potential buyers know someone was bidding on all of your auctions? Aren't the IDs all private now?

They can see the feedback scores and the 2 initials for one.

They can also look and see what PCT of auctions the person bids on are yours.

    Good for you.

Back in 2005 when I ripped a case of Gridiron Gear football (what a fun case) and listed it all on eBay, I had one guy with fairly low feedback do the same thing. I think he picked up 65+ auctions from me and paid almost immediately after the last one ended.
