what do you do with a character like this? Unreal (settled) update

Hi mike I received the box today. I have to ask Who do you think you are fooling with this box. The box was opened along with the packs and resealed. please do not deny it. I Have been buying these boxes for ten years and know what to look for. I wanted to give you the benifit of the doubt even though i can clearly see they have been resealed so i opened 10 packs as i thought not one foil card witch if you know about this year most packs have a foil in it. You tell me what you would like to do about this. we can settle this or i will open a claim with pay pal and leave the feedback you deserve.

ps If you bought this box and didn't know about this i'm sorry but you are still the one i bought it from.

this is what I am thinking about responding to him. (item was a 1993 Upper Deck Sp BB box) :

These are foil packs (jerk), I was a Upper Deck Direct dealer since August of 1988, This box came from a factory sealed case , I can see by your feedback left for others you are a slime ball who thinks that by threats you can scam people ( i am not one of them), I do not care if I lose my ebay account or you give me a negative feedback, if you had any doubts before ripping off the Upper Deck factory sealed shrink wrap (since u are such an expert) and then opening 10 factory sealed foil packs, you should have contacted me , blackmail does not work here, opening the packs since you are such a expert, you should have already known before opening 1 fricking pack that they were altered/ searched or screwed with or whatever. I will see you in hades before you blackmail me ! Oh yea 3100 positive feedbacks without 1 negative before you.

Storm, any help you can give is appreciated ( ps yes I will name the jerk) so everyone can put them on the BBL list.

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks Mike Felts Ebay id is mike_felts

Ps here is his feeback left for others link

Perhaps I'm the only one a bit confused. But Diamondman is Mike_Felts and I've bought several cards from him with out a problem.
Mike, I'm sorry this happened. Sounds like you will likely get your first negative, but they aren't the end of the world. Best of luck.

What to do with a buyer like this?

Out him everywhere you can. Using his ebay ID and real name. The Google bots will pick up on it and anyone who types his name or user ID in will get all his dirty dealings on the first page. The more chat boards you out him on the better.

This has been Storm's advice in the. I know that he'll have more to add, but it is a start.

We could clean out his store, and leave negs accordingly.

  • If he leaves a neg, send me a PM. I will take one or ten for the team. image

    Hi Mike,

There's no way this guy would come close to winning any kind of dispute.

it only takes a quick look at his FB to others for anyone to see that this guy's a scammer.

I doubt if he'd neg you since he's also a seller and most likely knows the possible repercussions that could result.

I'd politely tell him that he's:

The claim can be fought/won at PayPal.

If it is tiny money, I would tell him to return the item
and then take measures to make it a very expensive
    and troublesome transaction for him.

If the money is big enough to fight over, I would fight.

Based on the feedback left by EBAY seller aruba202,
he is clearly not somebody I would do business with.

    ...................

NEVER email any name-calling or swearing to a bad
buyer. I uderstand the temptation, but it plays real
bad at PayPal. Any communication must sound like
it comes from a professional biznez person.

I would not communicate with the LIAR at all. Let him
file his PP claim and if it is worth the effort, fight the
    claim.

It is not possible for a factory sealed box to meet the
technical criteria for a PayPal SNAD-claim. A defense
to the claim can be crafted around that set of facts.

Use the PP/EBAY definitions of what a SNAD is NOT
    to state your defense.

  • Storm is right... craft a professional sounding e-mail if you feel the need to reply to this joker. He'll probably use any foul sounding e-mail against you.

Good Luck and I hope this works out for you.

Buyer opens the packs, doesn't get anything, and wants their money back...pathetic beyond belief.
  • It was a 200.00 1993 Upper Deck Sp Baseball box, the factory shrink wrap had the upper deck logo's , and came from one of my factory direct 18 box cases in 1993. didn't even bother to check his feedback on toolhaus as a quick look showed 100% positive and a powerseller.

So yes I will fight this one ,

here is the box in question link

Ebays new 12 month feedback and the whole powerseller thing renders the quick look virtually useless in determining credibility.

You really need to rewrite your return policy on sealed merch.
The stated policy is an invite to crafty scammers.

Not to sound like a jerk but your return policy does not say anything opening packs and then asking to return.

Obviously all of us here at the boards understand what you mean but some loser on ebay can and is trying to scam you! In my opinion allowing refunds on unopened factory sealed boxes is not needed.

I really hope this works out for you and this jerk of an ebayer does not get away with this.

  • WHAT THE HECK???????? I never responded to the buyer as I was taking a 72 hour cool down period. so I didn't go to off the deep end and this is what happened: (note these were Foil packs from a sealed box )

1.The box i purchased from the seller was opened and resealed i have pictures of the packs in the box were they were opened and resealed and not a good job at that. All the packs were burt and some were still open.

You can see by my track record with ebay that i would never lie. Its the truth. I'm not saying the seller did it but i bought the box from him so he is the one I want my money back from. I will gladly send the box back to him and he can go after whoever he bought it from.

    2. PayPal Note: Buyer confirmed that buyer and seller reached an amicable resolution on this Dispute and buyer closed the Dispute.

both of these were filed with paypal within 20 hours? (I never responded to Ebay or Paypal)

I want to thank Storm and everyone else that helped or offered suggestions.

This was just NUTS ! or should I say the buyer was !

I'm confused - so the knucklehead buyer dropped the dispute?

yes, the knucklehead (buyer) opened a dispute and then dropped it all within 20 hours.

I (diamondman) was the seller, (1993 Upper Deck Sp Baseball box F/S).

Excellent! Nice job waiting him out and not giving in.

  • Wow, he must read these boards or something. That would be nice to buy "foil" boxes off eBay, open half of them and claim it was resealed.

He could have been drunk / high / huffing paint when he sent the original email. I'm glad for you that it was dropped. It seems like eBay buyers are getting worse and worse, and I didn't think that was possible.
