I figure Ortiz and Pedroia will hit north of the Mendoza line, no worries yet

    Pedroia will be fine.

I would be worried about the BLOB. He has shown signs of flaming out for quite awhile. Not having Manny to protect him could finish him off.

I don't think it is the lack of Manny. Youkilis hits behind Ortiz now and Youkilis starts every year nuclear white hot and this year is no exception. If Ortiz isn't getting pitches to hit (being pitched around), his BB and OB% should increase and therefore increase Youk's RBIs. But that's not happening. Whatever the issue is with Ortiz, it is entirely with Ortiz. He can't hide behind the "no Manny" thing any longer.
