Legendary Auctions

Any of you guys familiar with them? If there was a thread about them taking over for Mastro I missed it, Im considering consigning some high end items for their June Auction. I have done really well on Ebay with BIN's with a best offer attached to it as well as some "offline" deals. The 5 items I have to offer I havnt gotten much interest shown to me as Im sure it is because I have them listed for crazy prices, I know I could try lowering the prices but am thinking a major Auction house might be worth the risk.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Right before the change over there were alot of people who consigned that were complaining about not getting there checks in a timely fasion. Some guys said they had been waiting for more than 90 days.Unless you are in a rush to sell I would see how the first auction goes and then consider the second auction based off of that.

The only dealing I had with Mastro was I paid $99 for the "priviledge" of bidding in their auction, and they never sent me a catalog so I had no idea when their auctions were going on.....I thought they were shady/shoddy, yet their auctions prices were definitely enviable (from a sellers point of view)....if I had been a buyer, I would have felt ripped off.....I do hope the new company handles things better....

That means our family members and employess can bid, just not the principals.

It was always suppose to be about your customers, so he is stating that the old company never cared about its customers, the ones who made them millions. Doug, go wait in the unemployment line. Didn't they bounce a bunch of checks to their consignors?

I've done better on ebay. I was one that had a hard time getting paid, and only did finally thru the intervention of someone else in the hobby.
The terms of the contract were not honored, nor were the verbal promises. Faxes, letters, calls and emails were ignored.
Goodwin is an excellent alternative, as is Huggins and Scott. Sloate and Brockelman/Luckey are too, if appropriate for your material.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
