<< <i>Clean cards-(Spic and Span). I love those B&W photos. I hope they don't move around in those holders very much. >>
The plastic sheet behind the cards holds them in place. They will still move around but usually only if done intentionally to center the card in the slab.
They measure 4x5 and yes the do move around, but like a prior poster mentioned only if you tap 'em for centering purposes. Needless to say I was pretty happy when I saw the grades on these, especially the Aaron. The Spahn and Mathews are the only graded examples and the Aaron is the highest (the next is a 7). Believe it or not, these came from my local hobby shop and I picked them up for a pretty fair price. There was also a '54 Spic and Span Aaron in my submission that graded a 6 and a 1944 Grand Studio Brewers Casey Stengel that graded a 3. Both were fair in my opinion.
I remember that, back when I was a teenager, my cousin Joey had the entire set of those Lake to Lakes.
His favorite players besides Aaron and Spahn were "Joey" Jay (because his name was also Joey), and Bob Giggee (I have no idea to this day why he liked Giggee!).
Anyway, thanks for sharing .... seeing that card made me stop to think about Joey. He gave his life serving our country in Vietnam in '68.
Love those cards! I'm a big fan of that era Braves, I collect them myself. Those Spic and Span are hard to find in that high grade, nice job! Thanks for sharing with us.

I've got some of the B&W Spic and Span's, but not in that high quality:
Mike
Maybe the best "Spic and Span" examples ever?
