<< <i> It has 3 flaws, there are what appear to be 3 razor cuts, that are visible at certain angles. That would be the 1 and only reason I ever replace this. >>
It will never be an MS, but it is a very nice coin. I wouldn't mind having it in my collection. 38-D number 3
In regards to your original question, it's happened to me many times... and I've attempted to make offers as well.
One of the worst for me was trading a 1998-D MS66FS Jefferson nickel for a multiple amount of coins in return. I thought at the time, about 7 years ago, the possibility existed I could find another rather easily. Unfortunately that didn't happen and I stilll haven't found another.
I also sold many of my early Jeffersons in the early days, I wish today, I still had.
The moral of the story... be careful what you decide to sell or trade. You may never see it, or anything close to it again.
Steve
P.S. I just realized this is quite an old thread... nevermind.

Sorry I can't see the images, it appears you are trying to share them from your hard drive. Your best bet is to open a free account on photobucket and load your images there. They provide a link under the images once uploaded that you can copy and paste here.

Amazing set, someday I'd like to upgrade my '38-D to one like yours.
Your '59-D is amazing with PL fields.
Here is my humble '38-D:
Thanks!
Your 38 has very nice coloring and original surfaces. There is nothing wrong with that coin!

<< <i>Be kind to me as I am new to these message boards,
I can assure you the RYK 1843-D small date has found a good home. >>
Welcome to the boards, VillaRica. Does your handle refer to the small town outside of Atlanta?
Edit: Oops, I see that it does. Cool little town, I was there in the mid 80's on business. >>
coinmanic I love your tag line!
