Major changes this off season, we shall see how they work out.
I am wondering if some of Francoeur's struggles last season were attributed to him getting nailed in the head last spring training. He might have never felt comfortable at the plate and could not get himself out of the slump. Maybe the offseason helped him regain some confidence.
I am also glad Bobby let Schafer have the CF job. It is hopefully the beginning of great player for many years.
I assume we will see Hanson up sometime in mid June when Glavine has either been injured or knoced around too much. As much as I respect Glavine, he was not a good signing for the Braves, he has been topping out in the low 80s. All he is doing is blocking hanson.

<< <i>I think Javier Vasquez will do really well for you guys this year. Im not sure I agree with the deal you did for Chipper though, he was a stud last year but he is creeping up there in age and its tough to get him out there without injuries it seems. >>
I agree. While i am very happy Chipper will finish his career a Brave, 3 years to an upper 30's, often injured player, is not a good move from an organizational stand point.

I'm always nervous when we roll out the closer, except when we had Smoltz. He was an awesome closer. He came in with four pitches and made batters look silly. I miss him, I can't bear to see him in a Red Sox jersey. Thats about as painful as seeing D Murphy kicking it in a Phillies and Rockies uni

Glavine was pulled after two innings in a rehab start because of his hurt shoulder, does this mean we see Hanson earlier than expected, or do they keep him in the minors longer anyways?

Great road trip followed by a nice homestand capped off by a sweep of the former AL east leader.
I am anxious to see Medlen take the hill again against the Giants.
I hope Frank Wren is scurrying around trying to get a trade for Holliday, Mcclouth, or Dunn. Really almost decent player would be a big improvement over what Francoeur and Schafer have given us thus far. It is sad when Garrett "I refuse to run fast" Garrett is our most productive outfielder.
Our Top three pitchers are maybe the best three in the bigs. No one absolute dominant ace, but a very high chance of winning each night with either Jurrjens, Lowe, ir Vasquez on the hill. Kawakama has also been coming through in big games, he is a good #4 with potential to be much better than most teams #3 pitchers.

Thank god for Chipper Jones.
<< <i>Rough first start by Hanson, but I've got faith.
Thank god for Chipper Jones. >>
Hell of a day by Chipper.
I think Hanson did much better than his ERA showed. He kept his WHIP down and just need to learn that there a people like Braun in the bigs than can hurt you in a hurry.
