Article on Ripping in New York Times

I haven't seen any other threads about this article so I apologize if it's already been posted, but there's currently an article about video rips on the NY Times website. Here's a link, if I can remember how to post links:

link?

My son and I like to watch breaks on YouTube and see what products are best to buy.

His birthday is coming soon (April 11th) and I just ordered him a box of 07 UD Premier.

certainly accurate to compare ripping in the current hobby to gambling....as that is basically all high-end products are anymore, it seems.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

That's me in the article. Not the one in the Fro and "crazy outfit" but the sane looking one (maybe?). I was doing my large 39 box break that I had tried recruiting on here for and the reporter emailed me out of the blue and asked me how it all worked, etc.. The knew my break schedule and sent over a photographer to take shots. I told them... um, it's just me sitting in my basement opening cards on camera...not terribly exciting but they wanted a shot to go with the story so there it is.

I was hoping this may drive at least a couple new people to our group breaks as the story links to our website but I haven't had any new bites yet. Still cool to say that I was in the NY Times though.

I would definitely be up for a high dollar vintage rip draft type deal like the 39 box rip you did. I watched some of the videos and thats pretty cool, but I don't collect modern cards. I'd be up for busting a few early 70's wax boxes.

I tried a Vintage Wax Group and after months of recruiting I had 4 people. The interest is just not there to go in on a group break where you have a break host. While it certainly limits the possibilities, people seem to enjoy the breaks put on here where everyone gets their own pack(s) to open and that's fine. I think I've given up on my Vintage group happening.
