Woke up at 3 AM thinking about PGDs.

Usually it has been the MPLs that float into my sleepy head after the 3AM potty run....but early this morning, it was PGDs. Proof Gold Dollars.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This coin in particular....1874, total mintage of 20, this is PR65 finest known pcgs coin with a total pop in all grades Three. Just sold at auction, $16K...not really a heck of a lot of money for a coin with this rarity.
I'm really starting to think about seriously shifting gears in my collecting, and exploring PGD's

Hey! I'm awake too! Sad that I'm here...

Yesterday I carried an entire date set of MPLs to the top of a mountain rather than leave them in my car while I went backcountry skiing. I went skiing because of a dream I had about snow, which strangely yielded REAL snow overnight. image

Cost for the mintage & rarity seems a bargain but perhaps the demand is not comparable to MPL's (not that it shouldn't be).

Correct. I'm getting 'scairt' of the MPL demand/cost/supply ratios...
