Anyone know who this player is?

I've had this card forever. I'm trying to figure out who it is, and/or anything about the issue.
It says #25 of 25.

Bucky Dent is my knee jerk reaction but could very well be wrong..
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

When I first read the back and saw the face, I thought Bernie Carbo, but I think Stown is right, I think it's Bucky *Bleeping* Dent. image

I'm not sure it's Bucky Dent. Dent didn't join the Yankees until 1977, and this card was made in 1976, so ...

I don't understand why they picture a Yankee, when the text on the back has nothing to do with the Yankees.

Thanks. I've been trying to figure that out for awhile. I really need to find my Standard Catalog.
Who are the other 24 players? Any big names?

Only have the Standard Catalog of Baseball (from 2005) and only lists the baseball players which are #12 Pete Rose and #25 Bobby Murcer
  • DavidPuddyDavidPuddy Posts: 3,488 ✭✭✭
That's probably why I've never seen any more. Probably a bunch of Bowlers, Boxers, and Tennis players.

    Thanks Barf.

I knew Murcer batted left, but did not remember he threw righthanded.

    from baseball reference.

    Bobby Murcer
Bobby Ray Murcer Bats Left, Throws Right
    Height 5' 11", Weight 180 lb.

That is what I do. I am left handed, but more so ambidextrous due to being forced to be right handed as a kid. However, as I am getting older I am starting to only be able to do certain things with certain hands, without favor.

Matt, those are approx. 1 1/16" by 2 3/4". I remember getting those as a kid when my Dad would bring me home a Sugar Daddy candy bar.

The card has a 1976 copyright. Dent didn't join the Yankees until 1977. Definitely not Bucky. Maybe Graig Nettles?
