From Fanhouse:
At this point, the Denver Broncos really don't have a choice. There's no turning back, and there is probably not a good chance of there ever being a reconciliation. You can play the blame game all you want, but it won't change the reality.
Now that Denver has said they are going to explore trade prospects for Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler, it was just a matter of time before word leaked over Denver's demands.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Broncos want quite a price for a guy who doesn't seem to want to be in Denver anymore.
... the Broncos have informed all interested teams that they want at least two first-round picks for Cutler and getting a quarterback in exchange is not a necessity, Mortensen reports. A team source said it was possible Cutler could be traded as soon as Friday.
There's good news and bad news here.
The good news is that the Broncos might have a deal done by Friday. That puts an end to this thing much later than the last drama Bus Cook engineered.
The bad news? Well, Denver front office, I hate to break this to you. Someone should, though.
You don't have much of a chance of getting two first-round picks for Jay Cutler. The dude's damaged goods. Everyone on the planet who can access a television or a computer knows he doesn't want to play for Denver anymore, Not only does Denver not want him around, but they probably can't afford to keep him.
Even if you could sucker convince a team to give you one first-rounder for Cutler, no one is going to part with two. Yes, he has a big arm, is a good athlete, and is going to have some great seasons in the NFL. He's also going to have the potential to be a giant pain in the you-know-where when he doesn't get what he wants.
Perhaps the Broncos are banking on there being a bidding war for Cutler. He is, after all, a proven NFL quarterback, unlike anyone available in the draft. Plus, there's a chance the Redskins will be involved, and you know how often Dan Snyder gives up on getting something he wants.
Still, it's a price no sane NFL team would pay for someone who could cause them more trouble than he's worth.

<< <i>Denver is just being silly even starting out asking for two 1's. >>
They might be asking so much for a reason- they really dont want him to go.

<< <i>Might be like when the Red Sox put Manny on irrevocable waivers and got no takers... It put Manny in his place for a couple of years. >>
Possibly, but IMO the fact that nobody took Manny was much more of a slap in the face than this would be for Cutler- 2 First Round picks is no joke.

The Chicago Bears pulled the big upset Thursday afternoon by acquiring Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, a source told ESPN.com.
The Broncos confirmed the move.
To acquire Cutler, the Bears had to give up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 and 2010, a source said.
To complete the trade, the Broncos had to give back a third-round pick in 2009.
The Bears beat out the Redskins, Buccaneers, Lions, Titans and other teams to get land the 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback.
The Broncos had been asking for at least two first-round choices.
Cutler asked to be traded when he found out first-year coach Josh McDaniels tried to acquire Matt Cassel in a trade with the Patriots.
Cutler had not returned phone calls from the Broncos, according to the team, and had been staying away from the offseason program.

But only time will tell.
Also if the Vikings get Vick (this is not an ongoing rumor its just something I hope happens), well then the Vikings take the Division. With Tjak or Sage, nope..
<< <i>The Bears are a contender now. A very strong running game with a QB who can get the ball to his receivers, however if this doesnt pan out and Cutler was a product of Shanahans system the reprocussions from this will bury D'Bears. >>
Bury the Bears, they were already headed to an early grave. With no one certain what will happen with the collecting bargaining issue looming ahead who the hell knows.
<< <i> but they gave up much too much - Much too Much. >>
I agree Steve. By chance, does Jerry Jones own the Bears as well?

I know the feeling when ya root for a team but can't stand the owner - I've been there with some Philly team owners in the past.

To this day i believe that eventually Buddy Ryan would have brought a Super Bowl winner to Philly if Norman Braman hadn't foolishly fired him for no good reason!
