My Find of The Day

I was looking through an old box that I forgot I had and the following was found inside. They are season tickets my Granpa had. I also found some programs from the Chicago Relays from the 50's and the fight program he had from the fight in which Joe Louis won the heavyweight title.

That program is freaking insane. If it wouldn't damage it I'd LOVE to see scans of the inside.

Check out the Dodge ad - 18 to 24 mpg in 1937. And 70 years later they can't even match that!

Holy smokes! Great find. That boxing program is especially cool... Joe Louis vs. Cinderella Man for the title. Far out.

Just curious as to who your grandfather was as they didn't just give out comp season passes to just anyone? Awesome stuff by the way!

My Grandfather worked for the Chicago Daily News for years and played semi-pro football and baseball in Chicago. He was instrumental in developing a lot of the athletic clubs in Chicago.

  • Since I'm too lazy to google it, didn't Louis beat Braddock in that fight?

All my grandpa did was "kill fitty men" in WWII.

That is some really cool stuff you have. Looks like your grandfather was a very important man.

WoW Tom that is an awsome find!!! I would love to see those the next time we trade some wax. It is pretty cool that it is still in such good condition after all those years.
